5.20 – You’re contagious!

ScreenshotMincia’s POV

“And Mimi said that, so am I really going to school? What’s it like?” I asked mom. Pregnant mom was a lot more fun than not pregnant mom because she was always home!

“I’m sorry Mincia, but you won’t be going to school. Schools in this town don’t accept supernaturals.” Mom replied like she’d been thinking about it for a while. “But don’t worry Rex and I will homeschool you.”

“Homeschool?”

“You know how Peter and I taught you how to read?  That was homeschooling. You won’t be able to make a lot of friends, but hopefully we can find a school for you to join once you’re a teen. But for now you’ll learn everything you would learn in school at home.”

“Does that mean Peter could teach me what he learns in school?” I asked excitedly.

“If he wants to.” Mom replied with a smile.

“I’ll go see if Peter wants to play!” I said jumping off the couch.

“You can’t Mincia, he’s in school, but he finished early now.”

“I’ll go play outside to wait for him then.” I said and ran outside.

Screenshot-3

Five minutes later…

I’m tired of waiting! He takes so long! I wanted him to give me his new mystery novel book.

He keeps saying he gets them at a library…I bet I could get one myself!

Screenshot-4

I grabbed one of the rotten newspapers and checked in the ‘Entertainment’ section. I found the libraries address and I jumped onto the bike Rex had gotten me for my birthday. Rosa barked and followed for a few meters. She wasn’t as tired and ate a lot more now! I was excited to see the little baby dogs!

Screenshot-5

I looked at the huge building. In there thousands of mystery murder novels were just waiting for me to read them. I made sure no one was close enough to look at my eyes. I didn’t want people to start saying I was a monster again.

But the old man didn’t notice my eyes which is weird…

Screenshot-6

There were even more books than I imagined! Unfortunately not all of them were murder mystery novels. But it wasn’t hard to find the bookcase that had all of them. I’d already read a lot of them, but I found one I had never read.

A librarian caught me reading and told me I could become a member and even bring books home! Let’s just say I did not hesitate and took out a bunch of mystery novels.

I got so caught up in reading I ended up spending hours in the library! It was super fun!

Screenshot-7

Mom didn’t think it was fun. When I came home she got really mad.

“Mincia! Where have you been?!” She yelled.

“At the library mom I was reading!”

Screenshot-8

“Why didn’t you tell me where you’d gone? Rex and I were searching everywhere for you! And you went to the library? Did you change into a werewolf? Did someone realize you were a supernatural?”

“What no mom! I was careful! I’ll tell you where I go next time I promise!” I promised to make mom stop yelling. I was just reading!

Screenshot-9

“Okay, good. You make us scared when you disappear like that for hours. You have to remember to tell us.”

“I already promised mom. Here, I got a book for you.” I said handing the book over. I’d found it and thought I could give it to mom.

Sariel’s POV

I stared in surprised at the book my daughter had handed over to me as she left for her room.

It was a book about stress cause by guilt. It was impossible for Mincia to know, I’d only told Max. Could she know I…

Screenshot-11

The door suddenly burst open and Mimi came storming in.

“Sariel! You are f***ing contagious! I’m pregnant!” She shouted.

Screenshot-12

Turns out one of Miriam’s midnight pleasures wasn’t as protected as she’d thought. She, after a good five minutes, resigned herself to the fact that it was going to happen sooner or later. She considered getting an abortion and then decided she was bored (and rich) enough to have child. It didn’t take long before she practically lived in my house.

With being on maternal leave, I finally realized how much time Rex spent at work.  I’m happy to be on vacation, I hadn’t realized how much stress my body was taking!

As the months passed we decided to set up Mincia’s old crib in our room. We had to move the bed, but at least the baby would have a place to sleep.

Screenshot-13

The house soon started to feel cramped. And I was often compelled to take a walk, which I always did with Rosa. It still felt weird that we were pregnant at the same time.

Screenshot-14

I stopped walking momentarily to talk to my unborn child.

“Hey little one…do you think you could help mommy and tell me who your father is? Just confirm that Rex is your father. A tiny sign.” I pleaded.

Screenshot-15

Snif

I tensed at the sound. Did I just hear someone sniffing something?

Rosa stretched and yawned. It was probably her, and here I was thinking it was some sort of sign.

The guilt really is weighing me down.

Rex was amazingly supportive of my pregnancy which was something new for me.

Charles hadn’t been present for the last months and he certainly didn’t give me massages like Rex did.

It was inevitable that Miriam became jealous. She was also pregnant yet she didn’t have anyone to give her this kind of treatment.

Screenshot-17

Which meant it was also inevitable that I was going to ask her who the father was.

“The father?” Mimi replied to my question liked she’d never asked it herself. “Sariel, unless I searched down every guy I’ve slept with around the time of the conception date and made each of them have a paternity test, I don’t think my kid is going to have a father.”

“You don’t even have the slightest idea?”

“I’m just hoping it was the best looking of the bunch at this point.” Miriam replied.

Screenshot-18

Mincia’s door flung open and she came running out.

“Where are you going so fast?” I asked.

“I’m going to play detective with Peter! You have no idea how many mysteries are right in front of you all the time!” Mincia replied in mid-run before speeding out the door.

Screenshot-19

“Ha tell me about it.” Mimi said.

Mysteries all around you…

It reminds me of a few I’ve forgotten. How did Rosa get all the way to Legacy Island II? What happened to Charles? I know I didn’t get drunk so what really happened that night?

I replayed the memories in my head. I remember thinking he had sharp teeth and really pale skin. Could he have been a vampire?

“Mimi, what do you know about vampires?”

Screenshot-20

“Aw, if you’re going to ask me about supernaturals can’t you ask about an easier one?”

“What do you mean?”

“Vampires are the most mysterious of them all. They so barely come out that it would be easier to think they were just a myth. And honestly, I don’t even think vampires should be considered as supernaturals. They’re their own group all together! I bet they’re a dangerous bunch though. I mean, my father was a vampire, and even though he’s supposed to be immortal or something, the world he was involved in cost him a quick death. I really wouldn’t mess with vampires.” Mimi replied.

Screenshot-21

Mimi’s reply teased my curiosity and I decided to dig more into this vampire business.

I went to the library Mincia and Peter often played to search in books or in computers, but I didn’t find much of anything. After that I called my father, but he revealed he’d only seen two vampires in his life. They were two children that had gone to his school, but he doesn’t know the slightest thing about vampires. He told me he vaguely remembered that his grandma, Millie, had a brother that had been turned into a vampire. But they never kept contact with him.

After that I gave up searching for a way to justify what I’d done.

A bit short (and it was actually planned as two different chapters…), but the next few chapters will gradually become more exciting :D. I have plans…

And yes, three pregnancies at the same time.

Bahahahhahahah! “You are f***ing contagious!” I actually burst out laughing at that point! I am still giggling! oh bother… I;m just going to go before I burst something XD I liked this chapter.

Although being from a homeschooled family your line about “You won’t be able to make a lot of friends…” Almost made me want to unfollow you and close the window and never think of this blog ever again. But I know I am being too harsh so I digress. It’s the biggest thing I hate about homeschooling is the assumptions that if you are homeschooled you wont have friends because you arent social when it is exactly the opposite. Being homeschooled opens up so many social networks its crazy. But then I have to remember that this is a video game and she IS a werewolf sooo her social networks probably wont be too open XD

Ugh. Sorry for the rant now to reread that line to get me giggling and in a better mood again XD

    Cheers!

      Haha! Yeah Mimi’s a hoot!

I was referring to the fact that she was a werewolf and public apparitions is really not recommended. I myself know there’s more than one way to make friends! Glad you didn’t unfollow me! (oof!)

Yea.. Im slightly impulsive like that XD. Once I got over the fact that you said that I realized wait… She’s a werewolf… DUH! XD I guess I am reading too many stories where werewolves are just a part of society so I didn’t think of it that way lol. Can’t wait for the next chapter XD.

“You are f***ing contagious!” Best line in the chapter xD On another note Mincia is so adorable and cute and innocent :3 I don’t want anything to happen to her :t but then again that’s not how a person learns and grows. :/
    I can’t wait for more 😀

    I love that “You’re f***ing contagious!”
That’s how I certainly feel about a lot of pregnancies… one person gets pregnant and then it’s like dominos. Poor Sariel is really stressed out though.
