7.30 – Anything you desire

James’ POV

I crinkled up the piece of paper with the address on it and shoved it in my pocket. Coming back to the hotel the other night, I’d found an envelope under my door telling me when and where Kyxa would be the next day. With a big ‘THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE. PLZ DON’T SCREW IT UP AGAIN’ courtesy of Kent I bet.

I stared back at the deer. The moment it had noticed me, it had stopped in its wild roaming to simply stare at me. I admit I’m feeling a little nervous and that deer looks like it knows it. Its nose twitched as it observed me.

I wasn’t going to spend all day burning in the sun just to stare at some deer, so I took a step forward.

The animal twitched like I’d shot it before galloping by, jumping at freaky heights. Ugh, I don’t like animals.

“Ooh the rumor was true!” A voice I recognized all too well reached my ears from across the park.

I turned around and saw her, and in that moment I completely forgot why I’d come here in the first place. She hadn’t noticed me yet, but she was muttering happily to herself as she flew over the pond.

With a small smile I leaned on the small fence to watch her flitter about.

 She flicked the water playfully checking into its depth as she did so.

I hadn’t had the time to really see her last time. She’d surprised me and her genuine smiles had destabilized me.

“Oop, look at you! Such smooth scales!”

She’s so different from what I’m used to. She’s vibrant and cheerful! So much that just watching her makes a smile come to my face and all I want to do is hear her laugh.

 Because, if when she talks, when she moves, she can make me feel this way, I want to know what it’d feel like to hear a melodic laugh leave her lips.

Our eyes met and the wide smile that spread across her face as she saw me made me temporarily lose feeling in my legs.

I found myself stumbling back a bit as she flew over. She gave me a small wave as she did so and I returned it, my heart beating a little too fast. I don’t look too weird right?

Oh damn, I’m such an idiot.

I’m not sure what came over me, but I starting to feel a little ridiculous just waiting as she flew over, so I tried to (really just something dumb) jump over the fence. It might’ve been cool if it had worked, but I ended up tripping on my own feet and falling on the ground.

Oh crap. I was feeling a little too ashamed to get up right now. Really could this have gone any worse? God, can I disappear into the ground now?

But then a laugh, that in my opinion could lift anyone spirits, erupted from the girl beside me.

It made me regain my composure, so I got ready to get up.

But the moment I pulled my arm away, I saw her face hovering over mine a smile plastered on her face.

She poked my nose, laughing again and making me blush slightly.

“That was adorable!”

A small blush colored her already slightly pink cheeks as I stared into her emerald green eyes. She held out her hand. “Come on, I’ll help you up.”

I looked away a bit uncomfortably after I’d gotten to my feet, still pretty damn embarrassed about my clumsiness.

“Don’t worry about it.” She said, playfully touching my arm.

“You can trip around me whenever you want.”

How did she do that? How did she say something like that, while giving me a look like that, the whole combo making me actually want to trip again?

I suddenly had the urge to tell her just how beautiful I found her, how her smell made my nose tingle and how surprisingly hard it was to stay on my feet around her.

Not only was it frustrating that I wasn’t able to tell her this, but it might seem just a little too forward if I did and I don’t want to scare off by making her think I’m desperate or some other random stuff like that.

I must’ve been staring at her for a little too long because she looked away, the blush still on her cheeks.

“So James,” She began to say. She remembered my name? That actually makes me pretty damn happy. “What are you doing here?”

It was like a blast back to reality. I can’t believe I forgot what I was supposed to do. My face fell just at the thought that I had to make this girl do something she didn’t want to. But then, the mutilated image of Jamie dead on the bed reminded me of why I had to do this. I hesitantly reached out with my mind, afraid she’d sense it and that she wouldn’t want to talk to me again afterwards.

But to my surprise it was like I was the only one in this park. And if I concentrated on where I knew her mind would be there was some sort of block. One I couldn’t seem to figure my way around. I couldn’t even feel her mind. And that actually made me really happy.

“But that doesn’t really matter,” She said as she saw my smile fade away. “I just didn’t expect to see you so soon, you caught me by surprise. This is one of my favorite spots in Stonebridge, come on I’ll show you why.” She said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the pond.

She plopped herself down on the grass and motioned for me to do the same.

“It’s this view, with the waterfall and the water lilies and the fishies swimming in the water that caught my eye the first time I came to Stonebridge.” She sighed. “What about you? Sorry, I’m just assuming this is your first visit. I think I’d remember if I’d seen you before.”

I went to sign at her, but we both got the same idea at the same time.

“Oh shoot, sorry I forgot!” She exclaimed. “Let’s make this easier, I’ll ask you yes or no questions. Is that good?”

I nodded with a smile. That was a fantastic idea.

“Great! Okay then, is this your first time in Stonebridge?” She asked.

From that a whole conversation started. It diverged from simple yes or no questions to us playing charades as she tried to figure out what I was saying.

It’s been a while since I’ve had so much fun.

After an hour or two, I can’t tell anymore, the distance between us had considerably shortened. We were sitting side by side, our shoulders brushing ever so slightly when she seemed to suddenly realize something.

“But James, aren’t you a vampire? Isn’t it dangerous to be out in the sun for so long? What If you burn up?” She asked in a worried tone.

It’s true, I admit, I’d been feeling the prickling on my skin for the last few minutes, but I was afraid that if I stood up and went to take shelter, I wouldn’t be able to see her again. She said she’d been planning to leave soon, and this was a moment I didn’t want to leave just yet.

Smiling like a damn fool, I put my arm around her waist and closed the distance between us to place a small peck on her cheek. I could barely believe I actually had the courage to do that, but there was something about Kyxa – this probably sounds really cheesy but – something that made me feel like I could do anything around her and she’d laugh it off it was something horrible. I didn’t think there was anything I could do that would make her angry.

And she didn’t. She turned to me with a grin. “Is that all?” She said, cocking her eyebrow teasingly. “I was hoping for more.”

The smile spread on my face.

I held her hand in my mine and kissed it gently as if she were a princess. If she wanted more, I was more than happy to oblige.

 

The chapter was getting a bit long for a daily update, so I had to trim it XD (which surprisingly makes for an entirely fluff like chapter)

I KNOW I SAY THIS EVERYTIME BUT….This is my upmost top couple so far XD I love these two! And I think what I just said might actually be true this time. I cannot seem to write a chapter with the two of them in it and NOT die at some point, or just have to completely just stop writing because the whole thing just makes me too goddamn happy. These two are like…my greatest creations. I can’t even fully convey how much-just-enjoy. Just enjoy while I’m able to write these happy sappy moments for James. (You all know how much he deserves it. *pat pat*)

You know, as a writer, you’d think I wouldn’t react so strongly when my heir does this;

 

Yeah I reposted again. But just look at that gorgeous face! How, how do you do that James?

Also, that very last pic of the chapter, I find (personally) that this shows exactly why these two are so infatuated with each other. (it might not be that obvious to you guys though…)
